FSLR to Build 550 MW Solar Power in California

First Solar (FSLR) and Southern California Edison have announced they are planning to build two solar power projects in South California. The solar power plants in Riverside and San Bernardino are expected to  generate 550 megawatts of photovoltaic solar electricity which is enough to power 170,000 homes. The construction of the projects should start in 2012 and 2o13.

Yesterday, FSLR was quoted at $133.12. During the last year, the stock price has fluctuated between $85.28 and $283.45.

    Any word on how much the project is going to cost? Average cost per resident? Who’s footing the bill? Is it taxpayer money, private equity?

    Solar Power is so cool. it is clean and renewable energy. when the cost of solar panels goes down, i think every home should be owning a mini solar power station.
